Sew it
Sew it Kid!!
When I was five or six (forgive me for not remembering the exact date), I was given my very first sewing kit for Christmas by my dear old Granny Haines. Yes, I am indeed holding it upside down but that there is the proof of when my love for making things was kick started by one of the most wonderful women in the world. Conveniently poised here in the background of our pic, Grandma would have helped me with anything as a kid. We made bridesmaid dresses into evening gowns, dolls clothes and fancy dress costumes, one of which won me first prize in a school competition. No doubt one day I will find that photo and share it with you too.
My point is, I have such fond memories of sewing that I never want to let it go. I want to keep making, learning, sewing and creating, I want to extend my skill set and I want to expand my knowledge, and I am going to do it…with a little help from Granny.
