Mark & Liv got married in August in the Leicestershire village of Skeffington. The ceremony was at their local church and the reception held in a marquee behind the family home.
Theirs was the first wedding I have photographed that had incorporated a distinct theme…that theme being golf! The couple are golf nuts and very competitive out on the green so the speeches would lead us to believe. Following the service Liv and Mark traveled to the reception in a specially decorated golf buggy and guests were led to to the venue by a makeshift ‘green’ path. The ushers welcomed in the newly weds with a saber arch, only with the small alteration of clubs instead of swords, and all the while a 21 piece barbershop band sang in the background.
All the little touches extended in to the marquee with tables named after famous courses from around the world and flag poles to indicate your postition. You may also remember a golf themed order of service and personalised bunting I posted a while back by yours truly…those were also for this wedding.
Then there was the cake. Golf to a tee…do you see what I did there?! It even managed to incorporate a Leicester City scarf to highlight Mark’s football allegiance without looking out of place.
Top all that off with the bride accompanying the band for a couple of songs on the drums and you’ve got a wedding you’ll never forget. To see the chosen snapshot of their day please visit the gallery HERE.
